Demos

MailKeeper icon MailKeeper Demo

This file is a demonstration version of MailKeeper. It includes a sample database and electronic help. It is exactly like the full version; however this version can be used to create a maximum of 75 entries and only one database. To turn your demo version into a full, commercial copy, download the demo then call us at 800-255-4939 (619-481-1477 outside the U.S.) or type your User Code into the User Code box on our Ordering page. Approximately one week after you contact us you will receive a Registration Number in the mail. Type this number in the About screen to convert your demo version into a full version. (To view your User Code choose About MailKeeper from the Apple menu.)

Nisus Writer icon Nisus Writer 4.1 Demo

This is a demonstration version of Nisus Writer 4.1. You can download either the PowerMac-native flavor or the 68K flavor. Both archives include sample documents and macros. The demo is fully functional for 30 days from the time it is first used, except that the Spelling Checker, Thesaurus, Hyphenation files, Table Tool, and Equation Tool are not included due to size constraints.

QUED/M icon QUED/M 3.0 Demo

For a preview of our acclaimed text editor QUED/M, download this fully functional demo (only printing and saving are disabled). Sample documents and macros are provided, as well as everything you need to experiment with scripting QUED/M using Frontier or AppleScript.

The current version of MailKeeper is 1.0.2. Users of earlier versions should download one of these patches to obtain the latest version, which features bug fixes and improved documentation.

Nisus Writer icon Nisus Writer

Nisus Writer is currently at version 4.1.6. If you like, you can read a list of changes from earlier versions of 4.1. Download one of the updaters below to patch your copy of 4.1.x. If you have an older version of Nisus Writer (4.0.x), you will need to order your upgrade by mail (cost is $15 within the U.S.). To order your upgrade, or to receive the 4.1.6 updater on disk, please contact our Customer Service Department.

These updaters will...

  • Update both Power Macintosh and 68K versions of Nisus Writer.
  • Update versions 4.1.0, 4.1.2, 4.1.3, and 4.1.5 to version 4.1.6.
  • Create the new version in the same folder as the old version.
  • Rename the old version by appending ".old" to the name.
  • Automatically locate all versions capable of being updated.

Extras

MailKeeper URL Database
This database contains 1,500 URLs (Uniform Resource Locators). These are live links to web pages all over the World Wide Web. Drag (or copy) any URL into a web browser like Netscape and instantly jump to that site. This database can only be opened by a full, registered version of MailKeeper.

Nisus Screen Saver
This is a screen saver module for After Dark(tm) that displays a rotating, 3-D "Nisus Man" on your screen. Requires After Dark and the PICS player. A must for the true Nisus aficionado!

ScrapConverter
When you copy text into or out of Nisus Writer from another application, font, size, and style information is stripped from the text. ScrapConverter is an fKey which will allow style information to be preserved when moving text to or from Nisus Writer via the clipboard.

QuarkXPress filter
This filter for QuarkXPress will allow you to read Nisus Writer files with all formatting, inline graphics, etc. intact. Even converts defined styles (if they have attached rulers) to Quark styles. Be sure to read the README file for complete details.

Avery 5160 Label Template with World Watermark
This is a mail merge template for Avery 5160 labels (formatted for a LaserWriter). Each label has a graphic of a globe as a grayscale "watermark"behind the text. Use this file as an example of how to include graphics in mailing labels. NOTE: depending on your system's configuration, this graphic may not display on screen, but it will be visible when printed.

Ever wanted to paste only the text without any font, size, or style information? This macro pastes text only contents of the Clipboard. The text will take on the surrounding font, size and style attributes in the document at the insertion point.

HTML Authoring Tools February 1996
This archive contains version 2.5.2 of the HTML Authoring Tools from the Nisus Writer 4.1 package. This is an extensive set of macros and other supporting files that simplify creating HTML documents with Nisus Writer. Anyone who has a version of Nisus or Nisus Writer prior to 4.1 can download this file to add HTML capabilities to the program; users of 4.1 or higher will find that this version of the macros fixes some minor bugs from version 2.5.
